      Kimberly Dow
Description: Kimberly attended Plymouth State University in N.H., originally intending to teach art. While attending college, she was married and worked part-time at a local art gallery. When they offered to hang a few of her floral paintings using liquid acrylic on watercolor paper she was pleased. When they all sold within weeks she started her professional career immediately at the age of twenty. Having painted professionally now for over 16 years, Kim considers herself primarily a realist. Her subjects vary from portraits, murals, landscapes, still lifes and more recently: narrative figuratives. When it comes to her portraits, Kim is always striving to perfect not only the physical likeness she paints, but the style and techniques she uses to enhance the model's personality. These are some of her favorite paintings and commissions, the intricacies of painting the human face and form are endlessly fascinating.

      Michael Wallace Water Colors
Description: Wallace brings to his art the experience of having been a licensed New Hampshire guide and countless hours of hiking the woods, canoeing a river or exploring a swamp. Many of the ideas for his work come from following old, less traveled country roads and recording what he sees. He has come to rely on thousands of field sketches for his studio painting. Although Wallace paints to express his feelings, he also strives to bring an appreciation of nature to us. Over the years he has won many awards and is part of many private collections.

      Waxing Moon Batik Studio
Description: The word "batik" is Indonesian and means "wax writing". Briefly, the process involves brushing on melted paraffin and beeswax so it penetrates specific portions of the fabric. The waxed fabric is then dipped into or painted with wet dyes. The waxed areas repel or "resist" the dyes; thus the term "resist" process. Each time a new dye color is introduced on the fabric, portions of that color are waxed and held until the desired color scheme is achieved.
