Nascar Racing in the Lakes Region
Nascar Racing - New Hampshire Motor Speedway

NH Nascar Racing, Loudon, New Hampshire was the site of Bryar Motorsport Park from 1955-1988 where it held many races including go carts, stock cars, sport cars, and the annual Laconia Motorcycle Classic Races. In 1989 the track changed hands to the Bahre Family who made massive changes and turned the track into New Hampshire International Speedway.
In 1990 the Bahre family opened what is now New Hampshire International Speedway. The Bahre family racing roots in New England racing go back to 1964, when Bobby Bahre acquired a track in Oxford, Maine, which he and his son, Gary, operated until 1986.

Efforts to bring a major racing facility was not an easy task even for the bahre’s and in 1989 took off when ground was broken for New Hampshire International Speedway on a site about 10 miles north of Concord, New Hampshire. The track opened its gates for the first time in June 1990 and hosted its first lakes Region NASCAR touring series event, the Budweiser 300 for the Busch Series. The Cup Series fol
lowed in July 1993, with Rusty Wallace getting the victory.

Today the oval is known has one of the toughest tracks in the race circuit, that the track has been refinished on several occasions to try and keep strict safety conditions. The track has also been unfortunate to have recorded several deaths in the past years, Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin. In 2008 Speedway Motorsports Inc. purchased the facility and changed the name to New Hampshire Motor Speedway as it is know has of recent.
Racing in New Hampshire continues to draw large crowds, especially to the Nascar events. Check out all the links on this page to find schedules, events, and all the excitement we call ////////NASCAR RACING///////////
