Summer time in the Lakes Region is simply the finest time of year. The boats, sports cars, and great dinning make this time of year the best. Check out some of the small lakes in the area also. Half Moon lake, Suncook Upper and Lower, lake Wentworth, and others offer great enjoyment, but a smaller venue. Enjoy the week, maybe check out a concert, or just have fun on the Lake.

Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in the state of New Hampshire and one of the largest lakes in the United States that lies within the boundaries of a single state. Surrounded by three mountain ranges, the wooded shoreline and crystal clear water of this spring-fed lake make it a popular year round Lakes Region resort, a place to rest and relax in beautiful surroundings. Viewing the lake from nearby Mt Major offers one of the best vantage points to seeing a great portion of this spectacular lake.

Summer 2010 is ready to kick off. An early Ice Out, some beautiful weather and the bikes and convertibles are already out. Here are some events this year in the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee Region. I will post links to these events on our Lakes Region Information page. Meadow Brook kicks off there Summer Concert Series May 31st, Laconia Bike Week is scheduled for 6/12-20, The Nascar Cup Series 6/24-27, July 4th Celebrations around the lake will be posted as more info is announced, Granite Man Triathlon 8/14, Fred Brown Relay Around the lake 9/25, to name just a few events. If we are missing your event contact us so we can let everyone know whats happening in your town. Our updated website is dragging along. The PHP code in this site is hard to redirect to our new pages, but it will get there.
Certainly if you haven't done this yet, One of the first adventures must do's upon arriving in the lakes region is the trip around Lake Winnipesaukee. The 63 plus mile drive depending upon traffic could take many hours due to the 8 towns and 2 counties you need to drive through. But the trip is worth it and you are sure to find many treasures and exciting stops. The overlooks are beautiful and the towns are all unique! From the oldest resort town in America "Wolfeboro" - up around Center harbor to Weirs Beach, Laconia. You'll enjoy the ride and I am sure this portal will help you to find the perfect lakes region vacation.
Time to start enjoying lake activities and taking the trip around the Big lake on the M/S Mt Washington is just what a local would order. Of course you don't have to go on the Mount to enjoy the lake. You can still explore the scenery of the Big Lake by car, or by any type of water craft. The sites, sounds, and beauty of "Winnipiseogee" will keep you coming back year after year, Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. Check out these links for future trips.
